Welcome to a world where the trains are small, but the fun is larger than life! At McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale, Arizona, you can experience the joy of riding the Scottsdale Live Steamers. Perfect for kids and adults alike, these miniature trains will take you on an unforgettable journey through the park’s scenic landscapes.
What Are Scottsdale Live Steamers?
Imagine riding a tiny, perfectly detailed train that looks just like the real thing—only smaller! The Scottsdale Live Steamers are 1/8 scale miniature trains that run on a 7 1⁄2 inch gauge track. Our track spans about 5,000 feet and features loops, a tunnel, a trestle, and more. It’s like having your own personal railway adventure!
When to Ride
Our public rides happen from October to May, on the first Saturday and Sunday of each month, between 10 AM and 5 PM. Keep an eye out for additional ride days during this period! While we don’t charge for the rides, donations are welcome and go towards keeping our trains in tip-top shape.
What to Expect
When you arrive at McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park, head over to the Scottsdale Live Steamers platform. Our friendly volunteers will greet you and help you onto the miniature trains. As you chug along, you’ll pass through the lush greenery of the park, enjoy scenic views, and experience the thrill of crossing a trestle and going through a tunnel. It’s an adventure you won’t want to miss!
Private Event
We had an absolute blast at a private event at the Scottsdale Live Steamers with members of Calvary Lutheran Church! Everyone pitched in to help unload the trains, adding a sense of teamwork and camaraderie to the day. After setting up, we all hopped aboard the charming miniature trains for a delightful ride. It was a fantastic day of community bonding, laughter, and shared memories that we’ll cherish for a long time!
